Ta Da!

It is finished.
The deck is completed.
The inspector has been here and approved it.
Tonight we celebrate with a BBQ.

Our new 650 sq ft deck wraps around two sides of the house. It is made from composite for little maintenance and no slivers for those of us who hate wearing shoes. (Yep, that would be me!) There are two sliders leading from two bedrooms and a set of french doors to the breakfast room. There are no stairs, instead it has a ramp at the side of the house for better access. We hired the frame done due to the bureaucracy surrounding an 8’ high deck, but DH did the rest. (He is truly an amazing guy!)

Oh, enjoy! We have a great deck on the back of our house, but we haven't been able to enjoy it at all this summer because it's either raining or the mosquitoes are so bad you can't set foot outside!

Very nice! Congratulations! I built a flagstone patio in the front of the house, which caused me to neglect the back deck - being real wood, it needs another cleaning and sealing before the wet weather sets in. When I replace it, it'll be composite for sure.

Thanks, Anna! Never would of guessed mosquitos in the midwest, huh...

Max, with all the rain we get a deck needs redone almost every year. We are looking forward to watching everyone else redo theirs while sitting on ours. Someday we'll get to the pavers below the deck for the lower level.

Beautiful. Our deck has a roof with skylights which started leaking last winter and causing dry-rot but we're going to fix them and put mosquito screening around the deck because we have mosquitoes almost as bad as terrorists. They must be Muslim.
