This Little Light of Mine

For a while I posted a hymn every Sunday. I really like remembering the lyrics to some of my favorites from through the years. So, I’m going to try to keep it up again. This week’s is one that we sung often as children—complete with all the hand motions.

This little light of mine,
I'm gonna let it shine.
This little light of mine,
I'm gonna let it shine.
This little light of mine,
I'm gonna let it shine,
Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.

Hide it under a bushel, NO!
I'm gonna let it shine
Hide it under a bushel?
No! I'm gonna let it shine
Hide it under a bushel? No!
I'm gonna let it shine
Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.

Won't let Satan blow it out,
I'm gonna let it shine.
Won't let Satan blow it out;
I'm gonna let it shine.
Won't let Satan blow it out;
I'm gonna let it shine.
Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.

Let it shine 'till Jesus comes,
I'm gonna let it shine.
Let it shine till Jesus comes,
I'm gonna let it shine
Let it shine till Jesus comes,
I'm gonna let it shine
Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.

Oohhh, I need to teach my girls this one. I'd forgotten about it.
