Christmas Ships

Tonight’s volkswalk was along the Willamette River in Downtown Portland. Each December, boats decorated in lights travel on the Willamette and Columbia Rivers. This walk corresponded with the boats, so we were able to see the lights of the city as well as the boats. It was a lot of fun, but definitely cold. Okay, not as cold as Minnesota, but there was ice on the walkway, so there!

The “Made in Oregon” sign is a Christmas landmark in Portland. Each year the deer becomes Rudolph with a red nose. The other photo is of the city’s Christmas (believe it or not , the land of the liberal still uses that term) tree in Pioneer Square.

That sounds like a cool walk -- in more ways than one. For a minute I thought you were saying "Believe it or not, the land of the liberal still uses the term 'tree' in reference to Christmas." And I thought "Give it time, we won't even be able to say 'tree' unless we want to hug one."

We just had our Christmas Boat parade too...here in Ft. Lauderdale. I did not get to go, forgot until the last moment.

I just don't get the liberals and the tree calling names. A Christmas tree is a Christmas Tree!! Period...(smiling)

The pictures look great!!
